Bristol City Personalised Football Calendar
Brilliant Calendar For Fans Of The Robins!
Bristol City FC may be previous FA Cup finalists and Division Two champions, but the Robins are also a common link between ‘Blackadder‘, Formula One and popular 1970s band, ‘The Wurzels‘! With Tony Robinson and Jenson Button just two of many famous fans of the club, ‘The Wurzels’ took their support one step further in 1976 and recorded Bristol City’s anthem - ’One for the Bristol City’.
There has thankfully been as much interest created on the pitch at this popular club as there has been in the stands. GoneDigging has gathered together twelve original match reports from some of the most exciting games and most significant moments of the Robins’ playing history and we have reproduced them in a smart A3 Personalised Calendar that would make a terrific gift for any Bristol City supporter.
Calendar Highlights
Cup wins and promotion clinching matches are just two highlights of these Bristol City Calendars and they feature alongside reports of many other significant Bristol City FC triumphs.
In 1976, the Robins clinched the runner-up position in Division Two and so returned to the top flight of English football for the first time in sixty-five years. Our Personalised Calendar captures the moment of elation through a report of the club’s 1-0 win against Portsmouth that guaranteed the promotion. From 2007, our featured newspaper story is the final game of Bristol City’s season, which took place against Rotherham. With everything to play for, Danny Noble scored a decisive brace in a 3-1 win that ensured second place in the Third Division, promotion and a memorable pitch invasion.
Bristol City’s 2003 league season had not ended in such a party atmosphere. After scoring a staggering 106 goals, the Robins were left as sick as parrots when they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion and crashed out in the play-off finals. All was not lost however, as the club went on to win the LDV Vans Trophy, beating Carlisle at the Millennium Stadium in front of 40,000 Bristol City supporters.
In addition to this special cup win, our A3 Calendars also include the Anglo-Scottish Cup victory of 1977, and the club’s impressive 1-0 triumph over Liverpool in 1994, which sent the Reds flying out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage.
