In addition to winning major trophies, Huddersfield Town also created history in the 1920s by becoming the first English football team to score a goal directly from a corner kick.

The Terriers reached their second FA Cup final in 1922, having beaten Notts County 3-1 in the semi-final with a fantastic team performance. The final took place at Stamford Bridge and was the last to be held there before the opening of Wembley Stadium. Huddersfield FC beat Preston North End 1-0 through a Billy Smith penalty to win the club’s first ever major trophy. The victory kicked off a decade of dominance for the Terriers.
