Huddersfield Town Personalised Football Calendar

A Great Gift Idea For Fans Of The Terriers!

Huddersfield Town FC, formed in 1908, won the FA Cup and three consecutive First Division titles in the 1920s. The triumphs of the Terriers were even more impressive considering the club had faced controversy just a few years earlier. Financial problems had rocked Huddersfield FC and threatened the team’s existence. The owners warned that a move to local rival Leeds may be essential and this was met with a predictable outcry. Fans hosted fund raisers and began to buy £1 shares in the club. The Terriers were saved and a move to Leeds was thankfully prevented. In addition to winning major trophies, Huddersfield Town also created history in the 1920s by becoming the first English football team to score a goal directly from a corner kick.

Our Personalised Huddersfield Town Calendars feature a fascinating selection of match reports on some of the club’s best games from the past hundred years. Starting from the month of your choice, these A3 Calendars make a terrific gift for any fan of the Terriers.

Calendar Highlights

The Personalised Huddersfield Town Calendars include articles on FA Cup success from the club’s early days and more recent triumphs in the league.

The Terriers reached their second FA Cup final in 1922, having beaten Notts County 3-1 in the semi-final with a fantastic team performance. The final took place at Stamford Bridge and was the last to be held there before the opening of Wembley Stadium. Huddersfield FC beat Preston North End 1-0 through a Billy Smith penalty to win the club’s first ever major trophy. The victory kicked off a decade of dominance for the Terriers. The A3 Calendar also contains newspaper coverage on Huddersfield’s next two FA Cup finals in 1928 and 1930 respectively.

Other notable cup success featured in this Calendar Gift includes the 3-1 win against Sunderland in the 1938 FA Cup semi-final and the 1-1 draw with Leeds United in the second round of the 1974 League Cup. The two local rivals entered the match at different ends of the football league. Whereas United had just won their second First Division title, Huddersfield Town was struggling in Division Three. Although Leeds United would go on to win the tie in the replay, the initial draw was one of the biggest shocks of the football season.

Our Personalised Calendar also features a Yorkshire derby from 2008, the Terriers beating Leeds United 1-2, and claiming their first win at Elland Road in twenty-five years. Other league fixtures in the Football Calendar include the 1-2 win against Bristol Rovers from 1995 and the 1-2 victory against Lincoln City from 2004. Both matches took place in play-off finals and Huddersfield Town went on to secure promotion on both occasions.
