Middlesbrough Personalised Football Calendar
Magnificent Gift Idea For Middlesbrough Fans!
Middlesbrough FC formed in 1876 and for many years promotion and relegation went hand in hand for the club. However, in 2001 Steve McClaren was hired as the new manager and a 'Riverside Revolution' soon followed. His idea of employing specific attacking and defending coaches quickly paid dividends and financial investment in players led to one of the greatest eras in Middlesbrough's history. During his five years at the club, Boro reached the FA Cup semi-final and a UEFA Cup final and in 2004, the team won the Carling Cup. McClaren would leave the club in 2006 to become manager of England - an appointment that would end in famous failure - but Boro continued to prosper from the increased security he left behind.

Calendar Highlights
These Personalised Middlesbrough FC Calendars feature a variety of games, including the following highlights from McClaren's successful reign.
In 2003, Boro thrashed Tottenham 5-1 in the league. Perhaps this was warning of things to come for the club as in 2004, Middlesbrough won the Carling Cup - their first major trophy. Middlesbrough faced Arsenal in the semi-finals and a 1-1 draw at the Gunners' stadium was followed by an exciting 2-1 victory at the Riverside. The team came up against Bolton in the final and beat them 2-1 to win not just silverware, but also a place in the UEFA Cup.
Boro defeated Banik Ostrava 3-0 at home in their first European fixture, but their competition would end shortly afterwards. However, a 1-0 win against Spurs at the end of the Premiership season guaranteed Middlesbrough FC another chance in Europe. This time they would seize their moment and go all the way to the UEFA Cup final. The club eventually lost to Seville, but two thrilling comebacks in the latter rounds would earn Boro much acclaim in the football world.
In the quarter-finals, Middlesbrough faced FC Basle. The opposition scored in the first twenty-five minutes, gaining a 3-0 lead on aggregate. However, Mark Viduka soon began the fight back. Massimo Maccarone scored Boro's fourth goal on the stroke of full-time and the team won 4-1 on the night, 4-3 overall. McClaren's men faced a similarly daunting task against Steaua Bucharest in the semi-final. Down 0-2 by the twenty-third minute, and with captain Gareth Southgate forced out of the game through injury, Boro levelled and then went ahead. Maccarone again scored a fourth goal with just a minute to go and Middlesbrough raced into the final. The semi-final score had finished 4-2 on the night, 4-3 on aggregate.
