Celtic Personalised Football Diary

Fantastic Diary Gift For Fans Of The Bhoys!

Celtic FC has enjoyed incredible success over the years, winning over forty league titles and numerous cups. One of the keys to the club’s achievements seems to have been the strong foundations and tradition which it has been built upon. Many managers have been previous players for the Bhoys, there have always been long-standing family connections on the board and when the club faced financial problems in the 1990s, legions of fans rallied quickly to invest their money in the team they adore.

Our Personalised Celtic Diaries feature a unique collection of newspaper reports on the club from the past hundred years, celebrating various triumphs and occasions in the Bhoys’ history. Including league victories, cup wins and managerial appointments, these A5 Diaries are a fascinating read for any Celtic fan and a glorious walk down memory lane for those who experienced these magical moments in person.

Diary Highlights

The earliest highlight in the Celtic FC Diary is the 1956 League Cup Final, which the Bhoys would win 3-0 against Partick Thistle. After trying hard to win this competition for so many years, the victory was a special moment for the club. However, success would reach another level in the next decade, as Celtic’s cup triumphs soon hit the European stage.

In 1965, former Celtic FC player Jock Stein (CBE) was announced as the Bhoys’ new manager. A newspaper article on his appointment is included in your Personalised Diary and there are also reports on some of his key achievements with the club. In 1967, Celtic became the first British football club to win the European Cup, beating Inter Milan 2-1in the final. Two years later the Bhoys beat Hibernian 6-2 in the League Cup Final, and in 1970, Celtic achieved a record 9-0 victory against Finnish side Kokkola.

Jock Stein would eventually leave the Bhoys after also winning eleven league titles and eleven Scottish Cups. A touching tribute to the Celtic legend is included in your A5 Diary, originally published the day after his death.

In addition to a selection of other striking matches - including various wins over fierce rivals Rangers - these Celtic Diaries also incorporate two league championship victories. The Buoys were in their element in 1979, as Billy McNeil led the club to the title in his very first year, beating Rangers 4-2 in the final match of the season. In 2007, Gordan Strachan managed Celtic to a second consecutive Scottish Premier League title, which was won in the last minute of a 1-2 win against Kilmarnock. The scorer of the Bhoys’ vital goal, Shunsuke Nakamura, would go on to be voted Scotland’s Player of the Year.
