The City of Manchester Stadium

The City of Manchester Stadium was originally built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Following the event, Manchester City spent £35 million on converting the athletics ground to a football stadium and the impressive venue now holds almost 50,000 supporters. In 2004, the City of Manchester ground became the 50th stadium to hold an England international football match. The game was contested between England and Japan.
